Topic: Write story a bout “The Race between the Hare and the Snail.”
Mr. Tel is a narrator who narrated some Khmer folk tales. Of the a few stories, I’m very interested in a story which has title “The Race between the Hare and the Snail” and this story was narrated by Mr. Tel too. It’s a kind of Khmer folk tale. This story is about the race between the hare and the snail, there are small creatures, but it reflected the people lived in real society.
That story happened far a way in field there was a pond. In this story, these are the hare and the snails as the characters. One day, when the hare had finished drinking, It saw a snail making it’s a long the water’s edge. And then the hare said “What a poor creature you are!” “How slowly you walk!” Don’t you wish you were like me! I can run like the wind. The hare’s scornful talk that made the snail felt very angry, so the race between hare and snail was happened in that time. The result of this story the hare lost the race.
The major reason that I like it owing to this story is popular one among other stories, and also it has good idea and has unambiguous action in the society. The moral of this story is that we should never underestimate anyone who appeared weaker than ourselves. Absolutely, everyone who has some auspicious abilities never takes it to compete to someone. On the other hand, I had learnt a lot from the failure of the hare such as: don’t look down on someone, don’t talk too proudly about yourself, don’t be so immoral, don’t be so insolent, and do not use the harsh words like hare. Furthermore phase of reason, we shouldn’t underestimate our opponent. Please think deeply about stumbling block before doing any things. Hatred, envy, anger, anxiety, selfishness… All these things can block and can drive your life down. The hare in this story; it has some characters among above aspect. For instance, everyone should be careful because carefulness is the sources of safety and success. Besides phases, to be successful in life, we should avoid the character like hare. After reading this story, I really interested and exited due to the moral of the story. Even though, it’s a folk tale which has character as creature, but it reflects the obvious society. According to these reasons, I find that this story is a good one among the other. Likewise, I believed that student who read this story; they’llinterestandabsorb.
Based on the discussion thus far, it is obvious that all persons in the real society do not do like hare. In this story the hare is a too proudly character. We are a person, if we do that, we will fail like hare. To remember the moral of the story I have one proverb “Never judge the book by its cover.”

Semester I
Topic: 1 Compare what you learnt from High School to what you have learnt at the here.
Introduction:
High school in Cambodia had trained all students in order to have ability to find the job or to study at university. Before we study at university, we need to pass over high school. Nowadays, Ministry of Education in Cambodia had decided bring English language to student in curriculum. Not only highs school has learned English but also at University has studied more detail about English major.
In fact, responding to markets’ need, many students studying in Cambodia always took care about English language. Actually, in our society nowadays people who know more about English language majority have a good job to support their life. A part for me I like English so much. I always dream about a good job that I can use English language. The day that I like English at the first is the day that I saw T.V’s program that describe English.
Thereby, I lived in rural area, so my English language very poor like speaking, listening, writing, and reading as well. If we think about peoples’ situations living who lived in country side really hard. All the family always thinks about their farm and pets. They don’t want their children go to school. They never think about advantage of studying. So many students living in rural area didn’t know more about English. No one wants to study English. Because they think that study is useless.
The reason that student don’t want to study English because of many reasons such as: shortage English teacher, their hobby, their parent, their living, and especially lack education. For me I’m a student who lived in country side too, but I like to study so much. Among of subject that Ministry of Education needs us to study. I like the best is English subject.
I start to learn English at the first in pagoda. My teacher who taught English me is a monk. I began to learn A B C I can recite well. My teacher always admired me. All the days I always practice every day English. Both stay at home practice English and study at school pay attention to teacher English very carefully.
After, I had graduated at grand 9. I’m happy when passed the exam. I attended to study at high school. They are many student come to study because around the school that I study have a lot of families think about advantage of study. All the day I always spent a lot of powers for travel to school, because the school that I studied far away from my house.
Distance from my house to school is 15 kilometer, so I spent 1 hour for traveling. At the morning I need to get up early, in order to go to school on time.
I had studied at high school my English isn’t good. Because the degree of study English near my house is poor than degree of the student who studied with me. They had studied more than me because they have a lot of teacher teaching English. Moreover, my house far as well, so when I arrived home I really exhausted and don’t have power to study add in night.
Actually, in the high school have many subject to study. So many student need to study all of subject. For me, among of them that I had studied, I’m clear all. One more thing, the degree of curriculum and teacher as well lower than university. If we thing about the quality of teacher, most of teacher who teach at high school is a teacher at secondary school.
But nowadays I have been studying at University of Battambang. I’m really happy because now I know more friends and another lecturer. If I decries about my studying is better than before. The reason that I cannot such as: speaking, listening, writing, and reading. All of these skills I can do better than I was studying at high school.
In finally, what I gained from university is more than what I gained from high school. At the end, I really happy when I was been studying here. I think my life is better in the future.
Topic: Evaluate yourself to what you have gained from Academic Writing.
Our lives was improved by people who lived a round us. If you don’t have people who lived with you, you will live alone. People always rely on each other. Your life becomes success’ lives you need to have people criticize you. When you have someone criticizes you, you can correct what you are wrong to be correct. If you want to evaluate someone, you should think about yourself at first.
Life’s happiness is the life that always finest rarely sad. But all lives are always sad and finest. The lives that have someone criticizes, these lives will become good lives. Actually, when I had read «100 Action Principle» this is a book making me known clearly about life and how to organize my life to become a success life? I remembered one sentence said that «If you don’t have someone criticized, you should find a person to criticize you». And one more sentence said that«Everything in the world was born from changing».
In my opinion I think what it said in this book majority necessary for our lives, because some points that I read really important. When I had read this book I think that my life needs someone or all degree of people criticize to me, in order to my life becomes a success’ life. Everyday, I always monitor my life and ask myself such as: What am I? Where do I live? What am I doing now? How can I do? What is my position? What can I do for a person who I love? What can I do for my family? These are questions, I always ask myself everyday. When I asked I reminded one self. Especially, one proverb said that«Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today».What it means in this proverb I’m really I beware, because now from one day to one day, I don’t know, how can I do? What thing that I gain everyday? I thing that my life over rapidly everyday. Someday, I done wrong because I though wrong. All problems were born from careless. So we need to remember a proverb, said that«Carefulness is the source of success».
Nowadays, I have been studying at University of Battambang. It is the university that there are many students come to study. Thereby, it is the public school, so some students who don’t have ability to pay for study, but they can study the same students who have ability too.In the foundation year, the school required us to study five subjects. But among of subjects that I need to study, I like the most is English subject. In fact, if I don’t like study English, how can I do? Because the subject that I study is English major.
Now I want to evaluate one self to what I learn from Academic Writing. At first, I start to study in semester I, I studied with Mr. Rathana. The knowledge that I was gained by him, its suitable knowledge, I had known more than before. I had studied with him round 14 Units. The units that gained from him there are: Subject and Verb, more about verb, helping verbs… and about the clauses there are: Noun clause, Adverb bail clause, and Adjective clause. And some units about sentences there are: Simple Sentences, Compound Sentences, Complex Sentences, and Mix sentences. A few lessons I can know, but I’m not clear enough.
Until semester II, I have been studying with Mr. Chhit lieng Ieng. I have just studied with him a few units. What I studied with him I never studied them in the previous times. So all the units that I have studied I’m not so sure what can I do well or not? Exactly, what I recognize myself now I just know about English Grammar and speak fairly. Some points I have known well and I can do it. In the past I don’t know how can I speak English? The first when I have studied at university I can speak a little bit. When I speak, I always afraid of wrong grammar and words also. I’m studying writing skill now. I’m not so clear all the lessons that I have studied. Although, some points I’m not clear, but I still try to read it and practice exercise everyday. If I can’t do like this I think that I will fall the exam. Sometimes, I have head ach because of these lessons. I never waste the time. But my English isn’t good. Although, I still take care about it when I was studying, I still take care about it.
My speaking gets better than before that I can identify. When I met my friends while I was studying at University Of Battambang, I always practice speak English everyday. Moreover, what I can learn more about English is grammar. Because I know more about English grammar, I can speak and write. In my goal, I hope that what I could gain from Academic writing, It will make me know in English grammar well, know how to write and speak.
On the other hand, I have learned a lot from Academic Writing. The things that gained from lecturer there are: providing, explaining, and especially improving my writing skill also. I really thank to teacher, because he always persisted to explain us all the lessons. Sometimes teacher angry with our classmates who never listen to the teacher, this is the bad behavior that all the students should change. On behalf of students, we should think that what you gained from school? If all the students think like this, so I hope that our society in the future, actually have a lot of human resources. So our country wills be develops rapidly.
. One more thing, I’m really worry about all the activities of our classmates, because sometime I think that among of them, absolutely have someone that has made the immoral activities or impolite words. Besides I would like teacher to forgive us, when we make some mistakes. All of us, no one never has mistake and wrong. The mistakes that we mad we should correct each other.
At the end of essay writing, when I had written down the evaluation about one self, I known what I gained from Academic Writing, I have known exactly about it. Last words for me, I wish all students became good students, good sons/daughters, and good friends. But don’t forget try to study and do a good thing. Please escape from drug, because it really destroys you.
